FBI searches for suspected Glenview bank robber

The FBI has identified Kenneth F. White II as the serial bank robber who has been hitting Northwest Side Chicago and suburban banks.
White is described as armed and dangerous, according to an FBI wanted poster.
A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
He is described as six feet and three inches tall, 150 pounds, and with a thin build. He has a dragon tattoo on his left arm with Chinese writing, and several more tattoos on his right arm, the FBI said.
He typically wears blue jeans, hooded sweatshirts, baseball caps, and in colder weather, a black down parka. He has brown shaved hair and light eyes.
The suspect last targeted the MB Financial at 2200 Waukegan Road at 2:20 p.m. Monday in Glenview. He escaped with an unspecified amount of money and ran south on Waukegan Road before disappearing.
Federal agents are particularly anxious to arrest him before anyone is hurt, said Joan Hyde, an FBI spokeswoman.
“The fear is that as he continues, he might become a little braver or a little more impatient, and the chance of violence increases,” Hyde said.
“It’s been our experience that bank robbers may start out without inflicting any harm, but as they gain confidence that can change. So we’re very interested in getting this guy off the streets before he strikes again.”
“He usually hands a teller a note demanding money. He has never displayed a weapon, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have one,” Hyde said.
He also is suspected of hitting five Northwest Side Chicago and suburban banks since late October, Hyde said.
They are: the Glenview State Bank branch in the 1800 block of South Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights on Nov. 23; the TCF Bank branch in the 2300 block of North Harlem on Nov. 15; and the Harris Bank branch in the 600 block of Busse Highway in Park Ridge on Nov. 9.
Also: the Community Bank branch in the 7100 block of West Irving Park Road on Nov. 5, and the TCF Bank branch in the 1400 block of West Algonquin in Rolling Meadows on Oct. 26.
A reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest and conviction. Anyone with information should call the FBI’s Chicago office at (312) 421-6700.
