GLENVIEW — Joseph Kenney, Glenview’s director of capital projects and inspectional services, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use about 12:30 a.m. Dec. 12, after police stopped him on the 2300 block of Waukegan Road.

Kenney, 36, of 864 Osterman Ave., Deerfield, was released on a $1,000 cash bond. His court date was set for Jan. 18.

The village is following its customary policy of having an independent counsel work with our human resources director to perform an internal investigation pertaining to this incident, which is standard protocol for such incidents, said Donald Owen, deputy village manager.

Mr. Kenney remains employed with the village. There will be no further comment on this incident, out of respect for Mr. Kenney’s privacy and due process rights, Owen said.

As for the actual charge, Owen added, that is a private matter for Mr. Kenney to handle and the village typically plays no role in that process.
