One person has died and two were in critical condition following a two-car accident on Route 83 south of Bluff Road on Dec. 26. Tri-State Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Jack Mancione said two people were extricated from the cars.
All lanes on Route 83 between Bluff Road and Archer were closed for severa hours as DuPage County Sheriff’s police investigated.
A cause has not been determined. Paul Darrah, a spokesman for the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, said Monday no charges will be as a result of the accident.
The DuPage County Coroner’s office identified the deceased as Wanda Novak, 81, of Chicago.
