SKOKIE — A 71-year-old man who suffers from dementia and was reported missing from his home on Chicago’s South Side last week has been found safe in Skokie.

A missing-person alert was issued Thursday for Charles Hatley, who was last seen Dec. 20 in the 6600 block of South Stewart Avenue, police said.

The alert noted Hatley frequents Chicago’s Englewood community, but also was known to travel throughout Chicago on the bus.

Police said Friday morning he had been located in Skokie and was unharmed.
