Buffalo Grove bank robbed

BUFFALO GROVE — A bundled-up bandit robbed a Chase Bank office in Buffalo Grove on Thursday.
The FBI said the robber, described as a white man in his 30s, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9, had his head covered by a winter knit hat and his face covered by a scarf. The robbery happened at the Chase office at 1160 E. Lake Cook Road.
The robber did not show a weapon and no injuries were reported.

Buffalo Grove police were not immediately available to comment.
It was the first reported bank robbery of 2013 in the Chicago area. In 2012, there were at least 218 bank robberies in the area and in 2011 there were 115, the FBI said.
