A woman arrested twice by Park Ridge in two days stands accused of looking for unlocked vehicles to burglarize.

Michelle Karabetsos, 19, who gave police different addresses during each of her arrests, was charged with felony burglary to a vehicle on Feb. 7 after police said she had entered a car on the 400 block of Meacham Avenue and removed some coins.

Park Ridge Deputy Police Chief Lou Jogmen said a witness reported seeing two people with flashlights checking and opening car doors on the block. An investigation found that Karabetsos was allegedly involved, but police were unable to connect the second person to the burglaries, Jogmen said.

Police determined at least three vehicles were entered.

In a press release issued by the Police Department, Police Chief Frank Kaminski praised the citizen who initially called police.

“Has it not been for the individual that called, our officers may not have been in the area in time to observe and interview the suspects,” Kaminski said.

Karabetsos was also arrested by Park Ridge Police two days earlier on Feb. 5 where she was charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. During that arrest police said she gave officers an address on the 1200 block of South Linden Avenue in Park Ridge. During her Feb. 7 arrest she reportedly gave police an address on the 8700 block of Bryn Mawr in Chicago.
