LIBERTYVILLE — A motorist was definitely not “loving it” after being charged with DUI for crashing into a wall at the drive-thru of a McDonald’s restaurant in Libertyville.
A witness reported a possible DUI driver at a McDonald’s restaurant at 1330 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville about 12:25 p.m. Feb. 11, according to a Libertyville police release.
Officers found a vehicle in the drive-thru was pinned against the exterior wall of the building, police said.
William W. Meyer III, 58, was still attempting to move the vehicle forward when officers entered the vehicle through the passenger door and turned off the car, police said.
Meyer was incoherent and was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was treated and released, police said.
He was then charged with aggravated DUI, aggravated driving while license revoked, open transportation of alcohol and operating an uninsured vehicle, police said.
Meyer has previous DUI convictions, police said.
Meyer’s bail was set at $50,000. His next court hearing is March 8.
