RIVER FOREST — The A Cappella Choir from Trinity High School in River Forest will tour Ireland from March 29 through April 6.
Among their many activities, the 26 choir members scheduled to go on the trip will perform the Easter liturgy at Ennis Cathedral in County Clare.
They also will perform a lunchtime recital at Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin on Thursday, April 4.
Arrangements have been made in the town of Doolin, noted for its traditional Irish music, for the girls to meet local musicians. Choir members also will attend a choral workshop in Dublin.
The rest of the itinerary includes visits to Galway, Bunratty, Adare, Cashel, Blarney and Wicklow.
Trinity’s president, Sister Michelle Germanson, and two Trinity teachers, Margaret McNair and Courtney Schlesser, will accompany the group, along with choral director Linda Crabtree Powell.
Song selections will include sacred, spiritual, American folk songs and a couple Irish tunes. Members will wear their new blue A Cappella Choir jackets on the trip.
