A number of Metra trains were delayed Thursday morning after a pedestrian was struck by a train in Bensenville.
The incident happened about 7:35 a.m. near the Bensenville Metra station, according to Metra spokesman Tom Miller.
The train that struck the pedestrian, Milwaukee District West Line Train No. 2218, was not scheduled to stop at Bensenville and was running express from Wood Dale to Franklin Park at the time, Miller said.
As of about 9 a.m. the train was still stopped and a number of other Metra Milwaukee District West Line trains were delayed as a result. Train No. 2218 left Bartlett at 7:13 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 8:18 a.m.
