The ice is nice in Burr Ridge

BURR RIDGE — Park District Director of Parks and Recreation Jim Pacanowski takes painstaking pride in providing a smooth sheet of ice at Palisades Park each winter. But last year, the warm weather made skating impossible. The year before, a huge snowstorm brought the skating season to an end in early February.
Not so this year.
“We’ve already doubled our season,” said Jan. 2, only the second day of skating.
Located across the street from Burr Ridge Middle School on 91st Street, the skating rink is open from dawn to 10 p.m. daily and admission is free.
“The conditions are awesome,” Pacanowski said.
