For comic book fans, Wednesday is the biggest day of the week because new issues are released.
“Forty to 50 percent of my business is done on Wednesday,” said John Stangeland, who opened Atlas Comics, 4735 N. Cumberland Ave., Norridge in 1988. He sells new and vintage comics, as well as action figures and graphic novels.
The most avid readers build their schedule around new release Wednesday and many come at noon when the store opens.
“Wednesday is the important day of the week for the fan. Every Wednesday you’re going to have something that you enjoy,” Stangeland said.
