The legendary Wildcats coach had quite a victory tour this fall. At home games, he was honored over and over again. At away games, he was recognized and presented with special gifts.
In addition to being respected and beloved, Kuceyeski was highly successful as a football general. He guided the 2004 team to a state championship. His 2003 team was a state runner-up. The Cats were 27-1 over those two seasons.
And what did he do lately? In his last campaign, Kuceyeski, who is battling — and defeating — throat cancer, guided the Wildcats to a state playoff berth.
All told, this Alliance, Ohio native, who played collegiately at Northwestern University, will be known as a big winner (133 victories in 18 head coaching seasons with 14 playoff appearances) on and off the field.
